The Technology Initiative is a Business Community, K-12 School District, and Higher Education partnership focused on implementing programs designed to address the Science, Technology Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education/Workforce Paradox in Massachusetts.
Research confirms that the combination of academic preparation, awareness and inspiration are neccesary for a larger and more diverse group of students to pursue STEM post-secondary education and careers. This Academic Preparation and Awareness/Inspiration process must take root by the middle school years and be sustained throughout the high school years.
Our expertise centers around raising the awareness, interest and inspiration of students for pursuing STEM careers.
The Technology Initiative is addressing two key goals of "A Foundation for the Future: Massachusetts' Plan for Excellence in STEM Education". Goal 1. Increase student interest in STEM and Goal5. Increase the number/percentage of STEM classes led by effective educators.
Our goal over the coming five years is to increase by 100% the number and diversity of students pursuing STEM fields of study and careers in collaboration with our school districts partners.
